My daughter is a collector. She collects stickers, scraps of paper, little tiny objects, rocks, shells, etc. You get the idea!
So when I was cleaning up her room, I was trying to figure out what I could with all of the rocks and fossils taking up valuable space. She gets this rock collecting and fossil hunting habit honestly. Check out this Daddy-Daughter Fossil Hunt Post. And these are just some of her "treasures."
Anyway, it occurred to me that it would be cool if she had a way to actually study the various rocks and fossils. And keep them organized! We have had this blue bin for a while filled with random toys. I sorted through it and got rid of some. The others went into bins in the kids' rooms. Then I added all of her little trinket boxes of fossils into the bins. We set this whole station up in a corner of our screened in porch!
I laminated her fossil sheets and her rock identification guides.
And I added a ruler, magnifying glass, her journal that we sometimes use for learning activities, and these cool rock printables that I found online!
Now my husby wants me to make a space for him! He has a fossil blog that you can check out here if you are interested!
